Frequently Asked Questions
FAQ's
Below is a list of our commonly asked questions about our Custom Floral Rosaries! Don't see your question here? Feel free to reach out to us on our Contact page!
How much time is needed to create a custom Rosary?
Typically, anywhere between 6-8 weeks. This leaves enough time to dry the flowers (if they're not already dried), prepare and make the beads, assemble the Rosary, and ship them out to you before the date you need them!
If your Rosary is needed by a certain date, please let me know in the contact form.
How many flower petals are needed?
It does depend on the flower, but in general, 3-4 full flower heads are needed, however, I can work with as little as 7-8 petals depending on the size.
Still not sure what to send, let me know what type of flower you'll be sending and I can let you know how many petals I'll need!
I'm not sure what flowers to send! Any recommendations?
These Rosaries tend to be more about the sentiment than the looks (at least for me, they are!), so any flower will do! But if you want some more info, read on!
Recommendations
Any flower that has a lot of tiny little flower petals - or flowerettes as I like to call them - work well! Some examples would be Daisies, Scabiosia (aka pincushion flowers), or Anemone. These flowers all have a center made up of tiny flowerettes, perfectly sized to fit within the bead.
Not not recommended, but...
As beautiful and sentimental as roses and other delicate-petaled flowers are, I don't always recommend these as the flower to preserve if you're going for looks. When these types of flower petals dry and then are added to the resin, the petal almost becomes translucent. There is nothing wrong with this, but I like to see some integrity of the flower. With these types of delicate petals, it's hard to tell what flower is what.
Do the flowers need to be dried already, or can I send them "fresh"?
The drier and older the better!
If you have flowers from a recent event and the flowers are still somewhat fresh, wrap them in paper towel, newspaper, a brown paper bag or something similar. This will help wick the moisture out of the flower and ensure they do not rot in transit.
Do the flowers need to be in tact when sending them?
No need! Since the beads are somewhat small (12mm), I usually have to crush the petals to incorporate them in the bead, so it's ok if they don't arrive in pristine condition.
How do I mail the flowers to you?
If you're only sending a couple petals, place them in a plastic sandwich bag then mail them in a regular letter envelope.
If you're sending a couple flower heads, you can place them in a bubble mailer or something similar. You can use PirateShip to help you find the best way to mail them. Once I get your request, I'll let you know where to mail them!
Either way, don't forget to wrap them in some sort of paper before sending fresh flowers or petals!
When creating the Rosary, do you have a typical Crucifix or Rosary center you use?
I do have personal preferences, but if you have any specific preferences yourself or devotion to any Saint, etc, please let me know when filling out the contact form!
Where should I send them?
Once you submit a contact form, I'll reach out and provide the address.
Do the Rosaries come blessed?
No, the Rosaries are not blessed before shipping to you. Please have them blessed upon receiving them!
